Information about Atlantis
Atlantis
Paradise Island is
a destination that's not just a resort but a mythical
land. Here you can journey through The Dig. Protected by exotic
marine animals such as piranha, jellyfish and lobster, The Dig is a
fascinating labyrinth of underwater ruins that reveal what Atlantean
life may have been like over 11,000 years ago. Over 150 species of sea
life in eleven exhibit lagoons will surround you in the world's
largest marine habitat, second only to Mother Nature.
A vast waterscape of endless beach and
blue ocean, eleven pool areas including kid's pools and river rides,
and five thrilling waterslides built into an ancient Mayan Temple,
will satisfy both the adventurer and those seeking relaxation.
With a colorful spectrum of dining
options, pulsating night life, an entertainment complex featuring a
casino framed by panoramic views of the waterscape, and a world-class
marina and spa, you too will discover that the fabled splendor of
Atlantis is no longer just a fable.
Some of
the more eye-popping additions will be: a
five-story Mayan Temple with five water slides; The Dig,
labyrinthine "archaeological" ruins below the lobby; the
70-foot lobby ceiling of the Hall of Waters; and an 11-million-gallon
marine habitat with pools and a snorkeling lagoon stocked with
100,000 fish. The tanks hold a living saltwater habitat composed
of the world's largest outdoor, open-water aquarium, containing over
three million gallons of water and over 100 species of tropical fish.
There are also six huge exhibit lagoons, including the Predator
Lagoon, teeming with sharks and barracudas & crossed via a 90-foot
suspension rope bridge. Additionally, you'll find artificial coral
reefs, cascading waterfalls, a 100-foot clear, underwater tunnel for
shark observation, and three underground grottos, two with underwater
views of the aquariums. There are five fresh water swimming
pools--including two freeform pools covering more than 32,000 feet-a
lap pool, and a quarter-mile Lazy River Ride for a relaxing drift in a
tube.
