The Caves Resort Negril, Jamaica by Island Outpost A
truly spectacular small retreat, the
handcrafted cottages of The Caves in Negril, Jamaica are nestled among tropical
gardens, perched above caves carved by the sea. The walls of the cliffs feature
a series of grottos with ancient fossilized marine life to explore. Below the
caves the water plunges down to depths of 20 feet and a tropical reef system
comes right up to the edge of the caves, perfect for snorkeling. An arrangement
of coral stairs and walkways leads to sundecks and grottos and guests can climb
down ladders into the sea for swimming. Or you may choose simply to relax by the
water's edge and view the spectacular sunset.
Rooms are simply decorated with hand-carved furniture and batik fabrics and feature ceiling fans and CD/cassette stereo with a selection of CDs. TV and VCR are available upon request and there is telephone and fax service. The Caves offers a variety of Aveda spa treatments in an open-air gazebo, as well as yoga instruction, a saltwater pool, jacuzzi and sauna area. Fresh fruit, juices and drinks are available throughout the day. Jamaican cuisine is served daily for breakfast, lunch and dnner in the gazebo and are included in the room rate as are all beverages at the Gazebo Bar.
It is a unique project, designed, built and operated by Bertram and Greer-Ann Saulter, local entrepreneurs and artists who have been involved in the growth of the Negril area from its infancy. A system of coral stairs and walkways leads to hidden sun-decks and grottos. Rooms are simply decorated with hand-carved furniture and batik fabrics.
