Discount Rates and Bargain Prices on Vacations, Honeymoons and Weddings to Grenada the Spice Island of the Caribbean

eco02.jpg (15341 bytes)Known as the Spice of the Caribbean with the scents of nutmeg and vanilla in the air, Grenada is one of the world's last untouched islands where you can celebrate life and the pure gifts of nature that surround you.

The nation includes three islands: Grenada itself, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. The French and British fought Grenada until 1783 when the Treaty of Versailles awarded Grenada to the British. Grenada achieved complete independence in 1974.

Most stops are located in the capital city of St. George's and you can find Batik printed items, hand made straw and clay items, wood carvings, spice baskets and paintings by local artists. The usual duty-free treasures can be purchased at the airport or at Duty-free shops in St. George's and Grand Anse.

For active vacationers, Grenada offers a great diversity of SCUBA diving, snorkeling and hiking. The longest wreck in the Caribbean, the Bianca C, an Italian passenger liner sunk in 1965, is a magnet for the more experienced diver. The lush reefs of the Atlantic offer treats such as sleeping nurse sharks, six-foot sting rays, turtles and great visibility! The Caribbean reefs often come to within feet of the surface and offer the novice diver and snorkeler a calm place to explore the underwater world, while viewing black coral trees, Nassau grouper and schools of psychedelic squid!

LaSource (All-Inclusive)

LaSource Spa All-Inclusive Resort is minutes from the airport (but away from the flight path), this all-inclusive resort and spa unfolds on 40 acres facing Pink Gin Beach. The complex is reminiscent of a 19th-century West Indian colonial village, with the gracious main building resembling a governor's residence. Its grand reception hall leads to a breezy courtyard, around which are the spa-treatment rooms, a restaurant with a colonnaded dining terrace, a piano bar, and a two-level swimming pool. You can experiment with the chef's light spa cuisine or choose richer menu selections. In addition to the usual resort sports, yoga and fencing are offered. Rates include everything,--even spa treatments (aromatherapy, wraps, rubs, massages, and facials)--and tipping isn't allowed.
Coyaba Grenada

Coyaba means "heaven" in the Arawak Indian language. Right on Grand Anse Beach--certainly a heavenly spot--Coyaba is a comfortable, good-value hotel. You'll find complimentary non-motorized, watersports equipment, tennis, volleyball, a pool with Grenada's only swim-up bar, and dining in a bamboo-walled restaurant or on the terrace. Rooms, decorated with natural wood and Arawak-inspired folk art, are in several peach-pink, two-story buildings that surround 5-1/2 acres of beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens; the beach is just beyond the gardens. There's musical entertainment several nights a week.

The three islands of Grenada are located in the Eastern Caribbean at the southern extremity of the Windward islands, only 100 miles north of Venezuala. To the north lie St. Vincent and the Grenadines; to the south Trinidad and Tobago.

Climate
Average temperatures range from 24C/75F to 30C/87F, tempered by the steady and cooling trade winds. The lowest temperatures occur between November and February. People
Grenada's population numbers about 93,000, comprising citizens of African, East-Indian, and European descent. The largest proportion of the population, about 75%, is of African descent.
